Language Requirements
All programmes are taught in English. Therefore, the following language requirements apply:
Credit passes in English language at O/L, WAEC/SSSCE West African School Certificate Examinations or at baccalaureate, or
Candidates from non-Anglophone countries must have an internationally recognised Certificate of Proficiency in the English Language (TOEFL or British Council, IELTS) with above average score. TOEFL (75% or above).
Candidates without any of the above qualification will take a mandatory three-month English language course at the university before the programme commences. The Language course is to offer participants a comprehensive and practical understanding of the English language.
Language Support and Upgrade
The lack of proficiency in English would not constitute a determinant criterion against selection of a candidate. Prior to arriving in KNUST, the TRECK office will facilitate the attendance of three months intensive English language training programme at the University for non-English speaking participants accepted.
