The Makerere University, MAK has released its academic calendar for 2023/2024 academic sessions for newly admitted (freshers) and returning students.
This is made possible to help students with information like opening/closing dates, Orientation dates, semester breaks, examination dates, 1st and 2nd Semester dates, the last day of the semester as well as other important days of the education sessions.

NOTE: Currently, Makerere University is in their 2023 academic session, as the 2023/2024 academic calendar is yet to be released by the management.

Below is the list of the academic events that will be taking place in the 2021/2023 academic year.
- Fresher’s Orientation: Saturday 29th January to Friday: 4th February 2023 (7 days )
- Semester One: Saturday 5th February 2023 to Saturday 15th May 2023 (14 weeks)
- Semester One Holiday Break: Saturday 15th May 2023 to Saturday 28th May 2023 (2 weeks)
- 72nd Graduation Week: Monday 23rd to Friday 27th May 2023 (5 days)
- Semester Two: Monday 30th May 2023 to Sunday 4th September 2023 (14 weeks )
