Cecil Rhodes Biography 1853 – 1902

Cecil John Rhodes PC was a British mining magnate and politician in southern Africa who served as Prime Minister of the Cape Colony from 1890 to 1896.

Rhodes was born in 1853 in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, England, the fifth son of the Reverend Francis William Rhodes (1807–1878) and his wife, Louisa Peacock.
