About Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe
The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) is mandated to support the safe, regular and efficient use and development of aviation services around Zimbabwe, as well as advise the government about domestic and international aviation applications.
The CAAZ was established on 01-Jan-1999, replacing the former Department of Civil Aviation. CAAZ is the government body responsible for regulating the aviation sector in Zimbabwe. Functions include the provision of air navigation and technical services, as well as regulating and enforcing flight safety and standards.
CAAZ is headquartered at Harare International Airport, in the country’s capital. From 2021, the Airports Company of Zimbabwe has taken over airport management from CAAZ. Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) announced its official launch on 23-Sep-2021. The launch marks the completion of the separation of ACZ from the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe.
