The management of the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA) has released the Admission Requirements for the Student of the institution.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy, MNMA Students applying to Undergraduates, Postgraduate, Diploma, Masters programs, etc. must meet the following requirement in order to be considered for admission.

The Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Degree Programmes are as follows;

General / Minimum Requirements

Entry Requirement

Ordinary Diploma in Social Studies

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (04) relevant passes and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principle pass and one Subsidiary in any subject excluding the religious Subjects.

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (04) relevant passes (i.e. D grade or higher) including specific subject based on the course; and a relevant Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) recognized by NACTE or any other relevant one year certificate obtained from any learning institution registered by the Government or recognized by any Government body of the country of study.

  •  Ordinary Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Ordinary Diploma in Gender Issues and Development
  •  Ordinary Diploma in Library and Information Management
  • Ordinary Diploma in Community Development.
  • Ordinary Diploma in Records, Archives and Information Management

 Ordinary Diploma in Economic Development

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (04) relevant passes and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principle pass and one Subsidiary in any of the following subjects Economics, Commerce, Accounts, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Pure Mathematics, Basic Applied Mathematics, Geography and other relevant subjects as per course specifications.
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (04) relevant passes (i.e. D grade or higher) including specific subject based on the course; and a relevant Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) recognized by NACTE or any other relevant one year certificate obtained from any learning institution registered by the Government or recognized by any Government body of the country of study.

  • Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy
  • Ordinary Diploma in Business Administration
  • Ordinary Diploma in Procurement and Supply

Ordinary Diploma in Information and Communication Technology

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (04) relevant passes and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principle pass and one Subsidiary in any of the following subjects Economics, Commerce, Accounts, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Pure Mathematics, Basic Applied Mathematics, Geography, Computer and other relevant subjects as per course specifications.

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (04) relevant passes (i.e. D grade or higher) including specific subject based on the course; and a relevant Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) recognized by NACTE or any other relevant one year certificate obtained from any learning institution registered by the Government or recognized by any Government body of the country of study.

Bachelor Degree – Entry Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Management of Social Development

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects in History, Geography, English, Kiswahili, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Commerce and any other Form six subject except religious studies.

Diploma in Social Studies OR Diploma in Gender and Development, Community Development/ Full Technician Certificate in Human Resource Management, Record Man agent, Social Work, Journalism, International Relational and Diplomacy, Secretarial Studies and Office Management Administration, Performing Arts with an average GPA of 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE)

Bachelor Degree in Economics of Development

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects: Economics, Accountancy, Commerce, Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture, Diploma in Economic of Development OR Diploma in Community Development/ Full Technician Certificate in Procurement and Supply Management, Marketing, Accountancy, Financial Administration, Business Administration, Local Government Accountancy and Finance, Public Sector Finance, Management, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree of Education in Geography and History

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects, Geography and History subjects, Diploma of Education in Geography and History with an average of C, Education Management and Administration, Adult and Continuing Education, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree of Education in Kiswahili and English Languages

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects, Kiswahili and English subjects,Diploma of Education in Kiswahili and English with an average of C, Education Management and Administration, Adult and continuing Education, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 Passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree in Gender and Development

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects: History Geography, English, Kiswahili, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture Commerce and any other Form six subject except religious studies.

Diploma in Gender and Development OR Diploma in Community Development/Full Technician Certificate, Nursing, Travel and Tourism, Police Sciences, Social Studies, Social Work, Economic of Development, Record Management, Human Resource Management with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level.

Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management

Form VI with at least two Principal Passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from the following subjects; English, History, Kiswahili, geography, Agriculture, Economics and Commerce.

Diploma in Human resource Management OR Diploma in Gender and Development, Community Development/Full Technician Certificate, Social Studies , Record Management, Social Work, Journalism, International Relation and Diplomacy, Secretarial Studies and Office Management with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree of Education in Geography and Kiswahili

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D Grade with a total of 4.0 points from Geography and Kiswahili subjects, Diploma of Education in Kiswahili and English Geography and Kiswahili with an average of C, Education Management and Administration, Adult and continuing Education, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 Passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree of Education in Geography and English

Form VI with at least two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from Geography and English subjects. Diploma of Education in Geography and English with an average of C, Education Management and Administration, Adult and Continuing Education, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree of Education in History and English

Form VI with two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from History and English subjects, Diploma of Education in History and English with an average of C, Education Management and Administration, Adult and Continuing Education, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE).

Bachelor Degree of Education in History and Kiswahili

Form VI with two Principal passes at D grade with a total of 4.0 points from History and Kiswahili subjects.
Diploma of Education in History and Kiswahili with an average of C, Education Management and Administration, Adult and Continuing Education, with an average of GPA 3.0 and above or 4 passes at ‘O’ Level (SCEE)

Master’s Degree – Entry Requirements

Master in Human Resource Management.

A candidate must hold at least a second class bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in any field(s) of study from recognized institutions of higher learning.

A candidate with PASS Degree/Advanced diploma will also be considered by the academy upon producing evidence of having obtained an examined postgraduate or professional qualification from approved bodies.

A candidate who holds unclassified degrees should have an average credit of B or above. A candidate holding a degree or advanced diploma from foreign institutions should be certified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) before being considered for admission.
