The supervisor of treasury operations is responsible for ensuring that accurate and timely capture of deals, settlement, reconciliation and associated controls relating to treasury operations are implemented and working electively to minimize financial loss arising out of dealing activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing of interbank deals
- Perform the daily confirmation of Treasury transactions, ensuring exceptions are logged and issues resolved
- Settle deals when due
- Maintain the list of counterparties and their limits
- Monitoring counterparty limits and reporting limit breaches to the head of operations and CFO
- Confirm that deals from the front office are within the dealer’s mandate and report any exceptions
- Account for all transactions performed by the front office dealers and raise exceptions where there are discrepancies
- Capturing of standard settlement instructions
- Processing and reconciling changes in standing data, such as SSIs.
- Confirm that counterparties are on-boarded as per bank approved procedures
- Maintenance of records/documentation of Treasury transactions
- Ensuring that deals are transacted in accordance with authorization rules
- Analysis and reporting of exposures
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports for treasury
- Advise Treasury front office team of daily Nostra and BOU balances and
- ensuring that they are timely funded
- Cash custodian for head office central cash
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Business degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or any relevant field.
- Training in banking or in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
- Professional Treasury qualification preferred
- Three years’ experience in banking operations
- Understanding of Treasury instruments
- Detail oriented person
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of internal controls and back office operations
- Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model PBU’s values and
- leadership behaviours.
- Must be a person of impeccable integrity.
